Metering System Engineer Jobs in Qatar
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Metering System Engineer to join a leading Oil & Gas project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, performance, and compliance of fiscal flow metering systems used for hydrocarbon measurement operations.
This role requires strong technical expertise in flow computers, supervisory systems, metering calculations, and industry measurement standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, technical specifications, and vendor documentation related to fiscal flow metering systems.
- Support the installation, upgrade, maintenance, and replacement of flow computers and supervisory computer systems.
- Ensure all metering systems comply with Qatar Energy hydrocarbon measurement guidelines and international industry standards.
- Monitor metering system performance to maintain measurement accuracy and operational reliability.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and operations personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct technical assessments and recommend improvements for metering system efficiency.
- Assist in troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and engineering recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Process Engineering, Measurement Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in metering systems engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven experience with Fiscal Flow Metering Systems and engineering document review processes.
- Strong knowledge of hydrocarbon measurement standards, custody transfer systems, and flow measurement principles.
- Familiarity with Qatar Energy Measurement Guidelines or equivalent international standards.
- Hands-on experience with flow computers, supervisory control systems, and metering instrumentation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on offshore or onshore oil and gas facilities.
- Knowledge of metering system audits, calibration procedures, and performance verification.
- Understanding of industry standards such as API, ISO, AGA, and OIML.
